Heal Your
Body (Paperback) by Louise Hay
For people determined to improve their health through knowledge
of their bodies and discipline of their minds, Hay narrates from
her book, Heal Your Body. With a deep, soothing voice she puts
one in the proper frame of mind to absorb her ideas. She addresses
the problems of each body part in alphabetical order, giving each
a mental cause and then a healing affirmation.
Author Louise Hay is a teacher, lecturer, and founder of Hay House
Publishing. She contends that disease is caused by mental thought
patterns, especially patterns of criticism, anger, resentment,
and guilt. Festering resentments eat away at the self and can
ultimately lead to tumors and cancers. Anger turns into things
that burn, boil, or infect the body. A pattern of criticism can
turn into diseases like arthritis, and guilt seeks punishment
and leads to pain. In this book, Ms. Hay outlines hundreds of
diseases and conditions, alphabetically, and the mental patterns
that are associated with them, including each vertebrae of the
spine. She has discovered these patterns through many years of
study, her own work with clients, and her lectures and workshops.

Energy Medicine
(Paperback) by Donna Eden (Author), David Feinstein
Donna Eden's book, ENERGY MEDICINE, is a priceless addition to
any energy healer's book shelves. In simple language with clear
illustrations, Eden outlines ways to release stress, restore energies,
escape the grip of fear, concentrate in the midst of fear and
stress, feel joyful more often, overcome digestive problems, mend
broken arms and legs, overcome nervousness, calm people (and yourself),
relieve arthritic pain, relieve muscle cramps, relieve low back
pain, and regain control when feeling hysterical. I would be thrilled
with any book that so clearly outlines techniques for helping
people with such a wide variety of ailments, aches and pains,
but ENERGY MEDICINE goes several steps further. Eden describes
the body's energy meridians, chakra balancing, and how to do the
"celtic weave". As Eden explains, "The Celtic weave, as an energy
system, laces through all your other energy systems and creates
a resonance among them. It is the weaver of your force fields.
It holds your entire energetic structure together. As an exercise,
you use the Celtic weave to pulse your aura's energies outward
and to strengthen them. The exercise also connects all your energies
together so they operate as a single web. Touch one strand, anywhere,
and your whole system reverberates in harmony."

Cell-Level
Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell (Hardcover) by Joyce Whiteley
Hawkes
"Cell-Level Healing is a remarkable bridge between conventional
cell biology and the far reaches of self and spiritual healing.
Dr. Hawkes skillfully combines her solid scientific grounding
and experience in mainstream biophysics with personal insights
gained from a near-death experience and extensive training in
the alternative healing arts. Hawkes beautifully demonstrates
how science and spirituality can peacefully coexist and inform
each other in beneficial and refreshing ways." -- Dean Radin,
Ph.D., senior scientist, Institute of Noetic Sciences .
Living and working with priests and shamans in the Philippines,
South India, and Bali, she explored the previously uncharted territories
that divide biology from spirituality -- and discovered that emotional,
mental, and spiritual feelings can have a profound and positive
impact on our bodies at the cellular level.

Healing from
the Heart: A Leading Surgeon Combines Eastern and Western Traditions
to Create the Medicine of the Future (Paperback) by Mehmet Oz
Mehmet Oz is a Renaissance man of cardiac care, combining yoga,
aromatherapy, hypnosis, energy healing, music therapy, acupuncture,
and visual imagery into his surgery practice at the Complementary
Care Unit of New York City's Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
He's adamant that the relationship between traditional and alternative
medicine should be symbiotic, not mutually exclusive. His patients
are proof of this: when treated holistically, not as just "another
transplant patient" with a plaque-addled heart, they perceive
less pain during surgery and recuperation, are less likely to
suffer depression, and heal more quickly.
While med school at the University of Pennsylvania didn't expose
Oz to the holistic healing methods he employs today, his upbringing
in Turkey and exposure to cultures worldwide did leave him open
to new ideas. Oz helped develop the LVAD, or left ventricular
assist device, which helps the heart of a patient awaiting a transplant
keep pumping. Piqued when he was asked about his patients, "But
has restoring their hearts restored their health?"--and he had
to respond, "No"--Oz started incorporating one alternative method
after another into his practice. He started with massage after
seeing how it rejuvenated his wife after childbirth.
